Abstract
Pulp revascularisation offers a biological alternative to apexification in the immature necrotic permanent tooth. This mini review compares the intracanal medicaments and coronal barrier materials in current use, including triple antibiotic paste, calcium hydroxide, mineral trioxide aggregate and the newer calcium-silicate cements. Evidence favours calcium-silicate barriers for reduced coronal discolouration and comparable apical closure rates, while the choice of medicament has a smaller effect on outcome than the adequacy of disinfection and the establishment of a stable blood clot. Reported success remains highly operator-dependent, and standardised outcome definitions are needed before materials can be ranked with confidence.
